Tips on educating children to be sholeh.

Tips on educating children to be sholeh.

The child is the source of happiness in this world and the hereafter. While we are still alive in the world, our children are our air conditioners, comforters of grief and weary releasers. When we are dead, the child will continue to pray for us to forgive our sins and sins, praying that we be blessed and loved as we love them as children. A child is a valuable investment.

How to make a child sholeh. Here are tips I got from the Friday newsletter I read after the prayer:

  • Pray to allaah.
  • Allaah has promised, pray to me, I will pray. Prayer has a child already in the Qur'an. Among them are as follows.

(Robbanaa hablanaa min azwaajinaa wadzurriyaatanaa qurrota a'yunin waj'alnaa lil muttaqiina imaamaa)

    Means:
Our Lord, give us our wives and our descendants as our heart-pleasers, and make us priests to those who fear. Al Furqan : 74)

(Robbi hablii min ladunka dzurriyyatan thoyyibah, innaka samii'ud du'aa')

    Means:
My Lord, give me from your side a good child. Surely you are the hearer of prayer." (QS. Ali Imran : 38)

    (Robbi hablii minash shoolihiin)

    Means:
O my Lord, give me (the child) who is among those who are sholeh (QS). Ash Shafat: 100).

    2. Be a good example for your child.

The child is a good imitator. Our behavior will be an example that children imitate. The way we dress, the way we talk will all be exemplified by the child. How do children want to pray in the mosque if we ourselves never packed. How do children want to read the Qur'an if we rarely read the Qur'an ourselves?

We need to set a good example for our children. One good example and a characteristic of a believer is to harmonize words and deeds.

"O you who believe, why do you say what you do not do?" [QS. Ash-Shaff: 2].

"Why do you tell others to do good, while you forget yourself, when you read the Book? Don't you think?" [QS. Al-Baqarah: 44]

There is great anger to the man who is only able to say but cannot do so.

    3. Teach qur'an and hadith shohih.

Teach a short surah in the Qur'an along with its meaning. Teach alfatihah and its meaning. Teach in simple language so that they understand the contents of the Qur'an. Teach also a short hadith that is easy for children to memorize, for example, "do not be angry and for you jannah, cleanliness is part of the faith, do not eat with the left hand, etc."

    4. Choose the right environment for the child's development.

The environment plays a role in shaping personality. An Islamic environment will shape the Muslim person. School your child in an Islamic school. Choose a friend or association that is good for the child. The association that Islam means is to associate with good people for reasons of good and for the purpose of good. Association that is not contrary to the values and teachings of Islam. Or a relationship that does not mean to strengthen God and cause trouble and harm to others. The essence of shuhbah is friendship and friendship in fear of God.

Teach children to associate with those who fear God and the righteous. (QS. At-Taubah: 119). Those who keep their promises to God. (QS. Al-Ahzaab: 23). Be with those who call upon God. And do not associate with those whose hearts neglect to remember God and hope for the enjoyment of the world alone. (QS. Al-Kahfi: 28).

In the Prophet's hadith, this is also arranged. Here are some hadiths about it: Mingling with people who can bring good benefits and remind god. (HR. Bukhari and Muslim). Get along with people who understand religion and are good. (HR. Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi). Be with those who love Allah (and the Messenger of Allah). (HR. Abu Dawud).

Thus. Hopefully this will be a lesson for me in particular and for my brothers. Aamiin.
